The younger brother of current Maryland defensive lineman Anthony Booker Jr. has decided to join his brother in College Park.

Wednesday night, the Terrapins landed a commitment from 3-star linebacker Bam Booker, who is the younger brother of Anthony, currently a member of the Maryland squad. Bam made his announcement with a post on Twitter. The commitment came on Anthony’s birthday.

“First off I want to thank God for all of his blessings. I also want to thank my family, friends and everyone who supported me during my journey. I’m glad I could share this experience with you all. Lastly, I want to thank each school that recruited me,” Bam wrote. “With that being said, I am proud to announce that I will be furthering my education at the University of Maryland!! GO TERPS!!! I also want to take this time to with my brother, Tank Booker, a Happy Birthday. I hope this present will suffice. I love you bro.”

Bam is listed as a 6-foot-3, 230-pound outside linebacker who ranks as the No. 40 player at his position in the 2021 recruiting class. He’s also ranked as the No. 27 overall prospect out of the state of Ohio.

According to InsideMDSports.com, Bam had a strong junior season on the field at the high school level in 2019. He ended the year witb 50 tackles, 6.5 sacks and 12.5 tackles for loss at Winton Woods High School.

Several Power Five programs had interest in the 3-star linebacker, but he chose Maryland over offers from Cal, Iowa State, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisville, Minnesota, Pitt and Purdue. He also held a handful of Group of Five offers.

With Bam’s commitment, Maryland now has 18 verbal pledges in the 2021 class. The Terps rank 18th nationally and 5th in the B1G.
