Maryland named finalist for elite in-state offensive lineman
Maryland is 1 of 5 teams still in the mix for 3-star offensive lineman Ryan Howerton.
Howerton released his top 5 on Sunday afternoon. Pittsburgh, West Virginia, Howard and Virginia Tech all made the cut. He also said he intends to announce his commitment on July 15.

Howerton took an official visit to Maryland earlier this summer. He also made trips to Pitt and West Virginia during the month of June.
He would be a significant addition for the Terps in the class of 2024. He’s the No. 595 overall player and the No. 43 offensive tackle in the country, per 247Sports Composite rankings. He’s also the No. 17 player from Maryland.
Howerton attends St. Vincent Pallotti High School in Laurel, Maryland. He’s listed at 6-foot-4, 295 pounds.
Maryland has 14 commits so far in the class of 2024. The class includes 4 offensive linemen so far as well. Maryland’s group currently sits at No. 45 in the country, per 247Sports Composite rankings.
