A former 4-star recruit is leaving Maryland.

RB Peny Boone has entered the transfer portal. Boone played for the Terrapins for 2 seasons. Boone carried the ball 58 times for 258 yards on 4.4 yards per carry and 2 touchdowns.

This season, for the Terps, Boone carried the ball 39 times for 172 yards on 4.4 yards per carry and 2 touchdowns. Peny was a former 4-star recruit coming out of high school.

This season, Maryland is heading to a bowl game in Mike Locksley’s 3rd season with the team as they knocked off Rutgers 40-16 to reach bowl eligibility. The Terrapins went 6-6, and 3-6 in B1G play.

Maryland is playing in its first bowl game since the 2016 season when the Terps went 6-7 and lost in the QuickLane bowl to Boston College 36-30.

Maryland fans will have something else to cheer for besides its basketball team this holiday season. Maryland is awaiting its bowl destination.
