Jake Funk has been drafted, coming off the board in the seventh round of this year’s NFL Draft.

At pick No. 233, the Los Angeles Rams snagged Funk. He becomes the second B1G player selected by the Rams this year, joining Northwestern DE Earnest Brown IV. Brown was selected in the fifth round.

Funk made the most of his fifth season with the Terrapins in 2020. He led the team in rushing with 516  yards in five games played and averaged an impressive 8.6 yards per carry. Funk finished the year with four total touchdowns.

The 2020 season was by far Funk’s most active and was his only collegiate season with more than 29 carries. He finishes his Maryland career with 968 yards rushing and 13 offensive touchdowns.

Despite getting drafted, nothing is guaranteed for a seventh-round selection. Hopefully, Funk is able to show he can contribute in Los Angeles, whether that be on offense or as a piece on special teams.
