Maryland redshirt freshman running back Jordan Castleberry has decided to enter his name into the NCAA transfer portal. He made the announcement with a post on Twitter on Tuesday.

Castleberry spent one season in College Park but appeared in just 2 games and did not take any handoffs. Both appearances came during the 2020 campaign and he leaves the Terrapins with 1 tackle to his name.

Prior to attending Maryland, Castleberry spent one season at Michigan. He decided to transfer out of the program following the 2019 campaign. He did not appear in any games.

As a redshirt freshman and because of the NCAA’s blanket waiver for all student-athletes for the 2020 football season, Castleberry will have all four years of eligibility remaining at his next destination.

“Thank you to Coach [Locksley], especially Coach Brooks and the Maryland family for everything but due to some circumstances I will not longer be attending the University of Maryland and will be entering the transfer portal,” Castleberry wrote.

Castleberry was a member of the 2019 recruiting class and was a 2-star running back who initially committed to West Virginia before heading to Michigan.
