The Maryland Terrapins landed a big piece for their 2018 recruiting class on Tuesday night, and in the process, took a player away from Big Ten foe Minnesota.

That’s because JUCO LB Ahmad McCullough announced he was flipping his commitment from the Gophers to the Terps.

Terrapin Sports Report said it has been a move McCullough has been anticipating making for a while now:

McCullough told TSR after his visit to College Park that he was “leaning toward Maryland” and the Terps had his “full attention.” And he made it official Monday during another visit to College Park that he is now committed to the Maryland.

McCullough, who has not been ranked by any of the major recruiting services, played at Hutchinson Community College in Kansas last season.

McCullough is part of the Terps’ 2018 class, so he’ll be on campus and ready to play this fall.
