The Maryland Terrapins are 5-5 overall this season and has a shot to become bowl eligible with just one more win.

Despite not being an undefeated national title contender, the Terrapins just got its first commitment in the class of 2018.

Eriq Gilyard is a 5-foot-11 linebacker from Jacksonville, Fla. who will be making the trip up north to spend his collegiate days. Gilyard, a three-star linebacker, is the 26th-ranked outside linebacker in the class of 2018.

He may only be rated as a three-star prospect, but the Floridian turned down scholarship offers from Alabama, LSU, Michigan, Clemson and Nebraska, among others.
