Maryland and Virginia Tech will have 10 years of buildup for their next showdown.

The schools released on Wednesday that they’ll be renewing their rivalry with four non-conference meetings beginning in 2026. Each team will host two games in alternating years.

Maryland’s home games will be in 2026 and 2028 while Virginia Tech will host the Terps in 2027 and 2029. The first game will kick off in College Park, Md. on Sept. 19, 2026.

The two teams last met on Nov. 16, 2013 when both schools were in the Atlantic Coastal Conference. Maryland pulled out a 27-24 overtime victory and clinched bowl eligibility thanks to a touchdown run from C.J. Brown.

That gave Maryland a 16-15 advantage in the all-time series and it was also the Terps’ only victory in their last six meetings.

Here are the future meeting dates:

  • Sept. 19, 2026 College Park, MD
  • Sept. 18, 2027 Blacksburg, VA
  • Sept. 16, 2028 College Park, MD
  • Sept. 15, 2029 Blacksburg, VA
