Maryland's high-flying offense sets program record during 2021 season
Maryland’s offense was electric for much of the season. After steamrolling Virginia Tech with 54 points in the New Era Pinstripe Bowl, the 2021 Terrapins also finished with a program record.
Following the bowl win, Maryland finished the 2021 season with 3,960 yards passing under head coach Mike Locksley. That mark is the most passing yards ever in a season for Maryland.
Record Breakers.

The main driving force in that passing game was QB Taulia Tagovailoa. He finished the year 328-for-474 passing (69.2%) with 3,860 yards and 26 touchdowns.
Tagovailoa’s receiving corps was also a strong group. Rakim Jarrett led the Terps with 62 catches for 829 yards and 5 touchdowns.
For 2021, Maryland saw 7 players eclipse 300 yards receiving with Jarrett, Dontay Demus, and Chigoziem Okonkwo eclipsing 400 yards on the season. It truly was a top-to-bottom team effort for the Terps in the passing game.
