Javon Leake’s huge performance against Illinois has caught the attention of some pretty important folks across the country.
On Monday, the Maryland running back was named the Rose Bowl Game Player of the Week for his spectacular outing against the Illini. Leake needed just five carries to rack up 140 yards and three touchdowns on the ground. He also returned a kickoff 97 yards for a touchdown.
Leake finished the game averaging over 34 yards per touch.

Prior to Saturday’s game, Leake had just 66 yards and two touchdowns on seven carries for the season. Last year, the running back totaled 99 yards and two scores on nine touches.
Maryland defeated Illinois 63-33 to improve to 5-3 on the year and 3-2 in the B1G.
Leake was also named the Offensive and Special Teams Player of the Week by the B1G on Monday morning.
