For both Rutgers and Maryland, a win in today’s game will lift their record to an even 6-6 and make them bowl eligible.

The Terps wasted no time to jump ahead, taking the opening kickoff and marching 75 yards in 9 plays, capped by a 25-yard touchdown pass from Taulia Tagovailoa to Corey Dyches to put Maryland up 7-0.

After stopping the Scarlet Knight on just 5 plays on the following drive, the Terps struck again. This time covering 85 yards in 6 plays, this time with Tagovailoa hitting Brian Cobbs for a 38-yard touchdown strike.

Tagovailoa wasn’t done.

With 4:13 left in the first half, Tagovailoa took it himself on a quarterback keeper and scampered 10 yards around the right end to put the Terps up 20-2.

That’s where the score would stand at the half, with Tagovailoa having racked up 245 yards on 16-22 passing and 2 touchdowns.
