Back in January, former Ohio State LB KeAndre Jones transferred to Maryland.

Jones, a former 4-star prospect in the Class of 2016, joined the Buckeyes and made 29 total tackles in three seasons. He was originally committed to Maryland when being recruited, but then flipped to Ohio State. Jones is a native of Maryland.

On Friday morning, Terrapins head coach Mike Locksley said that Jones has been cleared immediately eligible for this fall.

Jones will be making plays for the Terps immediately, helping a defense that ranked 60th a year ago in total yards allowed. Maryland’s 2019 season is set to begin on Aug. 31 at home against Howard.

In 2018, Howard went 4-6, while Maryland finished 5-7.
