Mike Locksley explains why Maryland did not watch tape from Penn State rout
Mike Locksley explained Tuesday afternoon that Maryland players and coaches did not watch film from Week 10’s 51-15 loss to Penn State.
Why? Because was so far away from what Locksley wants to see from his program that there’s essentially no point. In his own words, Locksley said that it “is not even worth watching the tape because we came nowhere close to the standard that we have come to expect for our program.”
Here’s more:
Locksley said that the team didn’t watch the tape from the PSU loss.
“Of the four losses we’ve had, this one is not even worth watching the tape because we came nowhere close to the standard that we have come to expect for our program…that game showed us we’re not there yet.”— Andrew Chodes (@AndrewChodes_) November 7, 2023
Maryland is heading in the wrong direction after starting the season 5-0. The Terps now sit at 5-4 and are in serious danger of dropping their remaining 3 matchups against Nebraska, Michigan and Rutgers.
Maryland’s schedule was always going to be backloaded, but that doesn’t explain the complete shift in Maryland’s demeaner across the past few weeks. It’s as if the Terps simply gave up after keeping things close with Ohio State in Week 6.
The Terps face off against Matt Rhule’s Huskers this Saturday at Noon.
