It only took two weeks.

Two weeks ago, Maryland had plenty of question marks regarding the program with Mike Locksley entering his first season as head coach. Fast forward two weeks and the Terps are ranked No. 21 in the entire country.

What changed?

Well, in Week 1, Maryland beat Howard 79-0. Then in Week 2, the Terps crushed then-ranked No. 21 Syracuse 63-20. A 43-point win over a ranked team will certainly build the hype for any team — let alone a team that wasn’t ranked before.

Maryland and Locksley are now on people’s radars. Locksley knows it, but on Tuesday, he said he’s welcoming it. He wants to get other teams’ best games.

Locksley talks about how the first two “days” of the 2019 season have gone well. And, they have. Maryland is 2-0. He sees the season as a 12-day season — similar to how James Franklin looks at the season and each week.

Week 3 will feature the Terps against Temple. Temple is unranked, but Maryland will be traveling for the game kicking off at noon.
