Mike Locksley and Maryland are gearing up for a battle of undefeated teams against Ohio State this weekend. That matchup is set for Columbus, and it will be homecoming for the Buckeyes.

At his weekly press conference, Locksley was asked about the Terrapins also serving as the homecoming opponent for Michigan State, something that was referenced as a “slight” by the reporter. The head coach said his team didn’t take that move as a slight, but he did point out Maryland found out about the move late in the process.

Locksley also noted it’s “amazing” sometimes that Maryland has been used for so many homecomings but pinned that on “just the luck of the draw” with a hint of sarcasm.

“I don’t think we took it as a slight,” said Locksley. “We found out a little late but as I said, external things are not going to be what motivates us. I’m sure like around here, we don’t pick our opponent, the campus does. It’s just amazing sometimes, you look up on the schedule and you’re on 4 homecomings. Maybe just the luck of the draw I guess.”

Regardless of what went into the homecoming selection process, the Terrapins do not look like a pushover on Saturday. Ohio State is still a heavy favorite but the game will be a crucial B1G East showdown between unbeaten squads.
