Mike Locksley updates Maryland QB situation heading into Michigan game
The injury list has been a concern in College Park since the start of the 2019 season. As Maryland prepares for its homecoming game against Michigan this Saturday, it will be an issue again.
Last week, backup quarterback Tyrrell Pigrome was injured in the Terrapins’ 52-10 loss to Minnesota. He was filling in for Josh Jackson, who has also battled injuries throughout the year.
Both Pigrome and Jackson, as well as third-string quarterback Tyler DeSue, played against the Gophers last weekend.
Below is the update from Locksley on both Pigrome and Jackson heading into Saturday’s game, as tweeted by Emily Giambalvo of the Washington Post:
Maryland QB Tyrrell Pigrome will be "limited" in practice today, Mike Locksley said, adding that nothing is structurally wrong with his knee. He's expected to be available this weekend.

Josh Jackson will take first-team reps today and Tyler DeSue will be with the second team. Pigrome hyperextended his knee against Minnesota, and Locksley said, "My expectation is that Piggy will get better as the week goes along."

Jackson has appeared in six games this season for the Terrapins and was named the starter at the beginning of the year. He’s thrown for 968 yards and 10 touchdowns with just four interceptions thus far.
Pigrome has played in all eight games with 642 passing yards, three touchdowns and five picks. He’s also rushed for 173 yards and two additional scores.
The Terrapins are currently on a three-game losing streak and have dropped five of their last six games. Michigan leads the all-time series 7-1, with Maryland’s only win coming in 2014.
