Rakim Jarrett's performance in Maryland's win over Penn State nets WR honors from 247Sports
Coming into his freshman season, there were some significant expectations surrounding wide receiver Rakim Jarrett.
So far, Jarrett has met those expectations and then some. He scored two touchdowns as Maryland came out of the gates roaring and never looked back as the Terps defeated Penn State on the road.

Jarrett ended the day with 5 catches for 144 yards and 2 touchdowns in the victory. He doubled his previous total in receiving yardage from the first two games of the year.
That performance gave Jarrett a unique honor.

Jarrett was a five-star recruit coming out of the Washington D.C. area. He made headlines after flipping his recruitment from LSU to Maryland during the 2019 early signing period.
Thus far, Jarrett has been as advertised. He scored both of the Terps’ first two touchdowns. He’s the first Maryland true freshman wide receiver to score two touchdowns in a game since Stefon Diggs.
If Jarrett is the second coming of Diggs, that would be good news for Maryland fans and whatever NFL team snatches up Jarrett down the road.
