A Maryland analyst has landed a job as an offensive coordinator with an FCS program, according to a report.
Mike Canales will reportedly be the next offensive coordinator at Bethune-Cookman. Canales spent last season as an analyst on Mike Locksley’s staff at Maryland. Brett McMurphy of Action Network reported the news on Wednesday morning.

Before he stopped at Maryland for a season, Canales was the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at UTEP from 2018-20. He’s also had stops at Arizona (2004-06), USF (2007-09), North Texas (2010-15), Utah State (2016) and Tennessee (2017).
Bethune-Cookman finished the 2021 football season with a 2-9 record. It competes in the SWAC at the FCS level.
Maryland is coming off a 7-6 season in 2021, making its first appearance in a bowl game under Locksley. The Terrapins closed out the season with wins over Rutgers to close the regular season and Virginia Tech in the Pinstripe Bowl.
