Gater appeared in all 30 games for Mike Locksley’s squad over the past 3 seasons. In his career, he has made 59 tackles with a pass breakup and a forced fumble.
Gater is entering his senior season. He also has the NCAA’s COVID-19 waiver to return for a fifth year as a super senior. Gater has yet to use a redshirt.
As a recruit, Gater was a 3-star ATH, rated the 247Sports Composite’s No. 10 player from Washington, D.C. He chose Maryland over 6 other scholarship offers, including Rutgers.
