Did Maryland make the right hire with new head coach Mike Locksley?

We won’t know for quite some time, but things are looking up in the world of Terrapins football. Locksley announced his new RBs coach, Elijah Brooks, on Wednesday morning and Brooks was a former standout coach from a local high school.

Hours prior to Brooks being hired, Locksley also reportedly got his first recruit to commit to Maryland. The commit is actually a flip from West Virginia, as 4-star WR Isaiah Hazel is now committed to the Terrapins:

Hazel retweeted this, however, which somewhat contradicts the report:

We don’t know for sure, but multiple tweets and articles have come out about Hazel committing to Maryland.

Hazel, a 4-star WR according to 247Sports, is a 6-foot-1, 190-pound prospect in the Class of 2019. He ranks No. 232 nationally and No. 35 at his position.

Hazel is Upper Marlboro, Md. Maryland’s 2019 class now consists of 9 members and ranks No. 78 nationally and No. 14 in the Big Ten. Hazel is the Terrapins’ top-ranked recruit.
