Maryland head coach Mike Locksley has finally found his offensive coordinator.

InsideMDSports reported on Wednesday that Maryland has hired former East Carolina head coach Scottie Montgomery to run the Terrapins offense for the 2019 season. The hire comes a few days after Josh Gattis turned down an offer to take the offensive coordinator job at Michigan.

Montgomery has spent the last three seasons with the Pirates, where his teams posted a 9-26 overall record. East Carolina won three games each of his three seasons with the program.

Prior to becoming the head coach at ECU, Montgomery had prior college experience at Duke, his alma mater. He served as the wide receivers coach from 2006-2009 and served in multiple roles from 2013-2015 on the offensive staff.

From 2010-2012, Montgomery was the wide receivers coach with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
