McNair passed away earlier this year after collapsing during a team workout. An independent investigation into the incident and events surrounding his collapse and eventually passing announced Friday that Maryland was found to be at fault for failing to follow proper procedures.

Following the announcement of those findings, A.J. Perez with USA TODAY Sports reported Tuesday that prosecutors are seeking the full report of the investigation to determine if criminal charges are a possibility. According to Perez, portions of the public report were redacted but still showed “shortcomings” in Maryland’s handling and treatment of McNair.

It remains too early to determine what charges may be pursued, but prosecutors are requesting the full report in order to make a determination:

“We will be requesting a full, un-redacted version of the Walters Report and will begin reviewing all circumstances surrounding Jordan McNair’s death for potential criminal charges,” John Erzen, the spokesperson for the Prince George County State’s Attorney’s Office, told USA TODAY Sports.
