Roman Hemby sends Maryland to bowl eligibility with 75-yard game-winner vs. Northwestern
Roman Hemby put the Maryland Terrapins on his back in Week 8 and carried the team to victory.
Hemby essentially secured a victory for the Terps with a 75-yard score with just under 4 minutes left in regulation. Northwestern would get the ball back down 7, but their hopes were ended by a Brendan Sullivan INT.

Hemby finished the day with 24 carries for 179 yards and 3 TDs. The Terps needed someone to step up with star QB Taulia Tagovailoa nursing injury, and Hemby answered the call.
Hemby now has 681 rushing yards on the season to go with 7 TDs. The win over the Wildcats gives Maryland 6 wins on the year, making the Terps bowl eligible for the 2nd straight season.
Maryland will have a bye week in Week 9 before traveling to Madison in Week 10 to take on the Badgers.
