Taulia Tagovailoa was injured during the win over Indiana last Saturday. As a result, he will reportedly not be playing against Northwestern per ESPN’s Adam Rittenberg.

Tagovailoa finished the game with 270 yards passing and 3 total touchdowns before leaving the game with an injury. It was later revealed that Tagovailoa suffered a knee injury. Tagovailoa has 2,001 yards passing with 16 total touchdowns and 5 interceptions this season.

This will open the door for Billy Edwards Jr. to get the start for the Terps. Edwards transferred to Maryland after spending his first season at Wake Forest as a redshirt.

On the Northwestern side there are going to be some changes too. Starting quarterback Ryan Hilinski will not be playing in the game despite not being injured. Brendan Sullivan will be getting the start at QB for the Wildcats.

Defensive backs A.J. Hampton and Rod Heard are also active for the game.

The Maryland offense will have a new face at the helm, as that game kicks off at 3:30 p.m. ET on BTN.
