In a surprising turn of events, Maryland’s Board of Regents announced that it was their recommendation that DJ Durkin remain the head coach of the Terrapins. Durkin had been suspended while two investigations were launched into a potentially “toxic culture” at Maryland under his leadership.

Understandably, the decision to keep Durkin as the head coach has received mixed reactions. Some Terrapins players even reportedly walked out of a team meeting led by Durkin Tuesday.

One player that did not hold back when addressing Tuesday’s decision was Maryland OL Ellis McKennie. Though he did not reference anyone by name, McKennie called out those “who do not have the courage to hold anyone accountable” for Jordan McNair’s death earlier this year.
