'The best is ahead': Maryland QB Taulia Tagovailoa appears on ESPN after Terps clinch bowl berth
When Maryland quarterback Taulia Tagovailoa completed an 18-yard pass to Brian Cobbs, the Terps junior surpassed Scott Milanovich as the Maryland single-season passing yard holder.
The second-quarter pass gave Tagovailoa 3,528 total passing yards. He finished the game with 312 passing yards, 3 passing TDs, 1 rushing TD and zero interceptions in leading Maryland to the 40-16 win over Rutgers.
The win moved Maryland’s 2021 season record to 6-6, and left them bowl eligible for the first time since 2016.
But Tagovailoa says the best is yet to come.

Both Maryland and Rutgers entered Saturday’s game with 5-6 records, but the Terps jumped out early and didn’t look back.
The Terps last trip to a bowl game was in 2016 when they faced Boston College in the Quick Lane Bowl. Like this time around, they finished the season 6-6.
