This weekend was a huge moment for the Tagovailoa family.

First, Maryland quarterback Taulia Tagovailoa went off in the Terps’ upset victory over Minnesota on Friday night.

He completed 26 of 35 passes for 394 yards and three touchdowns in a 45-44 overtime win. He also rushed for 59 yards and two more touchdowns against the Gophers.

It was Taulia’s first career win and an important redemption moment after throwing three interceptions in a Week 1 loss to Northwestern.

But his older brother Tua may have had an even more impressive day. The eldest Tagovailoa won his first career NFL start vs. the Los Angeles Rams, throwing his first career touchdown pass in the process.

Tua completed 12-of-22 passes for 93 yards and a score. He got quite a bit of help from his defense, including a 78-yard scoop-and-score from former Wisconsin star Andrew Van Ginkel.

Here’s video of Tua’s first career TD:

Taulia and the Terps will be back in action again in Week 3 at Penn State.
