The BTN Bus Tour stopped in at Maryland Thursday, and the crew had an up-close look at the ongoing quarterback battle with the Terrapins.

“It looks like it’s going to be Jackson or Piggy,” DiNardo explained. “I thought Piggy has really grown in the year, especially in the passing game. I thought he was more accurate than he’s been in the past. When he takes off when he’s in trouble, he’s special. And I think Josh is really special with his arm.”

Howard Griffith agreed that Jackson is really special with his arm. However, he sees the playmaking ability and cohesion that Pigrome has with the team as an early difference maker:

“(Jackson) can make all the throws,” said Griffith, “But it’s integrating himself in with the locker room.”  He pointed out that the team just seems to gravitate to Pigrome.

Pigrome appeared in 11 games with the Terrapins and threw for 561 yards and 2 TDs last season. He added 159 yards rushing. Jackson arrives at Maryland after transferring from Virginia Tech. He appeared in just three games last season after appearing in 13 games as a freshman in 2017.
