Maryland has some fast athletes.
That’s not really breaking news at this point. All throughout the year, the Terrapins have recorded big play after big play. They added another to the highlight reel on Saturday.
Trailing 3-0 early in the game, Javon Leake was able to find a hole in Illinois’ kickoff coverage team, turned on the jetpacks and sped to the end zone for a go-ahead touchdown. It was Maryland’s third of the season.
Virtually untouched. 💨

Prior to Saturday’s game, Leake had just three kickoff returns for 51 yards. He nearly doubled that with one return.
Maryland entered the weekend at 4-3 and 2-2 in the B1G. A win over Illinois would put the Terrapins one game away from bowl eligibility.
