Maryland was the hottest new toy in the world of college football.

The Terrapins seemingly came out of nowhere with their new head coach in Mike Locksley and new starting quarterback in Josh Jackson to go up to No. 21 in the country within the first two weeks of the season. Maryland scored 79 points against Howard to open the season and then dropped another 63 on then-ranked No. 21 Syracuse.

Again, the Terps were hot entering Week 3. No doubt about it.

But then the game against Temple happened. And for the second straight season, the Owls beat the Terrapins in what was an upset according to Vegas.

After the game, Locksley spoke with his team in the locker room and reassured them that everything will be just fine:

Talk about a positive, short, sweet message after an upsetting loss. Nicely done, Locksley.

We’ll see if it helps the team pick itself back up for a Week 5 matchup against Penn State. The team has a bye in Week 4.
