Vernon Davis is undoubtedly a class act and took time Tuesday to share a heartfelt message for Jeshaun Jones.
Jones was a catalyst for Maryland’s offense right out of the gate as a freshman in 2018. The young receiver contributed 461 yards of offense and 7 TDs as a freshman, and he was likely to play an even bigger role in 2019.
Unfortunately, Jones’ season is over before it even started with the news that he suffered a season-ending ACL injury in Monday’s practice. The injury is a huge blow to Maryland’s offense, and it is always discouraging to see such a promising young player have to deal with such a tough injury.
After hearing about the injury, Davis sent his prayers and positive vibes to the young Terrapin. The former Maryland star encouraged Jones to keep his head up through the injury and rehab:
“I wish you a speedy recovery,” said Davis. “Just keep your head up, man, because everything happens for a reason, and you’ll be okay.”

Hopefully, Jones has a speedy recovery and can return to action in 2020.
