A former Maryland defensive lineman has decided to transfer to West Virginia to continue his college football career.

Monday night, 247Sports reported that ex-Terrapin Bryce Brand has found his transfer destination, and will continue his playing career with the Mountaineers. The lineman was initially a member of Maryland’s 2017 recruiting class and has contributed on the field during his time in College Park.

Brand appeared in all 12 games for the Terps during the 2019 season, totaling 12 tackles, four for loss and a sack. As a true freshman in 2017, Brand played in 10 games and collected 13 stops. The 2018 season was used as a redshirt year for Brand, playing in just four contests.

Brand will have two years of eligibility remaining while at West Virginia. The Mountaineers finished last season with a 5-7 record while Maryland ended the year 3-9.

Maryland and West Virginia are scheduled to play each other the next two seasons in a home-and-home series. The first games will be held at West Virginia on Sept. 19, 2020 with the return game in College Park on Sept. 4, 2021.
