2 Georgia offensive players reportedly make Orange Bowl trip to Miami
With the threats of COVID-19 potentially impacting the College Football Playoff, fans are anxious that any news announced doesn’t involve COVID. Georgia fans can breathe easier after Anthony Dasher of UGASports reported that star wide receiver George Pickens and quarterback J.T. Daniels are among the group of players that have arrived in Miami on Monday.
All of these players arrived in Miami after clearing COVID protocols after testing positive last week. Pickens, Daniels, and the rest of the players will join the team as they get ready for No. 2 Michigan in the Orange Bowl for the semifinal matchup in the College Football Playoff.
Pickens will be playing in his third game this season after suffering an ACL tear in March 2021. Pickens recorded 85 receptions for 1,240 yards and 14 touchdowns in the previous two seasons.
Daniels will likely be backing up former walk-on quarterback Stetson Bennett in the Orange Bowl, but Daniels started the year as the starter for the Bulldogs. Following the struggles of Bennett in the SEC Championship, it remains a possibility Daniels might see the field against Michigan.
