Michigan’s 2023 recruiting class isn’t where Wolverines fans want it to be at No. 29 on the 247Sports Composite, but one expert sees U-M on the rise thanks to the culture being built by Jim Harbaugh’s staff.

Much of Harbaugh’s staff includes former players that have a passion for Michigan football. Harbaugh himself was a Wolverine, and he’s surrounded by guys such as Mike Hart and Denard Robinson to name a few.

“That really impacts the culture,” Wiltfong said. “Harbaugh’s obviously a big culture guy, but the buy-in he has from his staff, the passion, the blood, sweat, and tears that those guys put into that program means so much to them. They set the foundation and it rubs onto the players.”

While Michigan currently sits at a subpar position in recruiting, expect them to continue rising as recruits see what that staff pours into the locker room on game days.

“A lot of Michigan Men that have a lot of pride in that school and wanna help it find those extra wins at the end of the season,” Wiltfong said.
