Wilson is the 14th ranked player in his home state (Florida) and the No. 6 linebacker in the country, per 247Sports Composite. He’s also the No. 74 recruit overall, regardless of position.
Before committing to Michigan, Wilson was also considering Georgia, Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Clemson, Florida, etc.
Wilson even spoke to Wiltfong about committing to the Wolverines and it looks like a lot of it had to do with head coach Jim Harbaugh, defensive coordinator Mike Macdonald, and linebackers coach George Helow.
“Coach Harbaugh is a great man,” Wilson said. “He’s really down to earth and real. Coach Helow and Coach Mac are who I talk to the most and my relationship with both of them has grown tremendously in my recruitment. When I went up to Michigan they made it feel like a second home and the way Coach Helow develops players at the linebacker position is also a big factor.”
Wilson is the 4th commit for Michigan in its 2023 class.
