The weekend couldn’t have gotten much better in Ann Arbor.

On Saturday afternoon, Michigan notched its first win of the 2018 season, defeating Western Michigan 49-3. A day later, the Wolverines received a verbal pledge from 2019 4-star defensive end Mike Morris, who had previously committed to Florida State.

Morris made his announcement via Twitter.

Morris is ranked as the No. 22 defensive end in the 2019 recruiting class and is a top 50 player out of Florida. Along with Michigan, he had offers from Florida State, Miami, Clemson and Kentucky.

Prior to his commitment, the Wolverines owned the No. 13 ranked recruiting class of 2019 and ranked second in the B1G, behind only Ohio State. Michigan will likely pass the Buckeyes in the rankings, even if it’s momentarily.

Morris is a native of Delray Beach, Florida and is a 6-foot-5, 255-pound defensive end. He becomes the 21st member of Michigan’s recruiting class.
