Aidan Hutchinson is among the new players added to the injury list for the Detroit Lions (6-7) on Thursday. The Lions are preparing for a key road game in Week 15 against the New York Jets (7-6).

The former Michigan Wolverines defensive end and Lombardi Award winner was added to the injury list due to an illness. He is one of three players, all on the defensive side of the ball, to be on the list due to an illness as of Thursday’s practice.

The Lions have clawed their way back into the hunt for the NFC playoffs after winning 5 of the last 6 games. Hutchinson has been a key factor for the Lions’ rise in the playoff chances and the defense being more efficient.

Through 13 games this season, Hutchinson has accounted for 35 total tackles, 23 solo tackles, 7 sacks, 6 tackles for loss, 13 quarterback hits, 2 interceptions, 2 pass breakups, and a fumble recovery. He is a serious contender for the 2022 NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year award.

The Jets are currently a 1.5-point favorite to win at home against the Lions, according to FanDuel.
