Aidan Hutchinson had a historic and memorable year for Michigan in 2021. As a result, he was named the Male Athlete of the Year for the Wolverines on Wednesday.

During the 2021 season, Hutchinson set the single-season program record with 14 sacks. He most notably turned in 15 QB pressures and 3 sacks in a dramatic rivalry win over Ohio State.

Hutchinson finished the year as the runner-up for the Heisman Trophy and was a consensus first-team All-American. He also captured the Lott IMPACT Trophy, the Lombardi Award and was the B1G’s DL and Defensive Player of the Year.

As a team, the Wolverines won their first B1G Championship under Jim Harbaugh and made their first College Football Playoff Appearance. Hutchinson was also the No. 2 overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft after being selected by the Detroit Lions.

With the award, Hutchinson will also be up for B1G Male Athlete of the Year, an award voted on by the media.
