Aidan Hutchinson is having as strong a rookie season as possible in the NFL with the Detroit Lions.

The former Michigan Wolverines defensive end was named the Defensive Rookie of the Month for the 2nd time this season. This is the first time in Lions franchise history that a player was won the award twice in one season and just the 4th DROM in Lions history. Of course, now Hutchinson has 2 of the 4.

The star DE was also named DROM in November.

In just December/early January alone, Hutchinson totaled 35 tackles, 4 sacks, 5 TFL, 1 interception and 1 fumble recovery. It’s not overstating it to say that’s better than a handful of veteran players do all year.

Across the season, Hutchinson has totaled 52 tackles, 9.5 sacks, 9 TFL, 2 fumble recoveries and 3 interceptions.

The Lions just barely missed the playoffs this season, but did get the satisfaction of knocking division rival Green Bay out of the playoffs in the process.
