Aidan Hutchinson says injury triggered ‘impulsive decision’ to change his look
Everyone reacts to bad news in different ways. For Michigan Wolverine turned Detroit DE Aidan Hutchinson, the news that he was being put on the Lions’ injured list led to a change in his look.
Hutchinson said the ‘weird’ feeling being put on the injured list led to the impulsive decision to lob off his beard into a short goatee.

Hutchinson played college football at Michigan, where he was named runner-up for the Heisman Trophy. As a senior in 2021, Hutchinson won several other prestigious honors, including the Ted Hendricks and Lombardi Awards. Hutchinson Hutchinson set the team’s single-season sack record at 14 in 2021, and collecting the Lott IMPACT Trophy, and the Chicago Tribune Silver Football.
Hutchinson was selected second overall by the Detroit Lions in the 2022 NFL Draft, collecting a four-year $35.7 million fully guaranteed contract. The rookie suffered a thigh-injury in Week 3 play that has sidelined his play.
