Aidan Hutchinson is going to be one of the top players selected in this year’s NFL Draft. There’s no guarantee he’s taken No. 1 overall, but it’s essentially a foregone conclusion that the former Michigan defensive end will be a Top 5 pick.

If the Jacksonville Jaguars pass on adding Hutchinson to the roster with the top overall pick, there’s a chance he’ll land in Detroit. The Lions have the No. 2 selection this year.

What would that mean to Hutchinson? Outside of being close to home and staying within arm’s reach of family, it sounds like the talented DE just wants a shot in the NFL.

“That would definitely be interesting, especially because it’s so close to home and I’d be so close to my family,” Hutchinson told CBS Sports. “I just know whatever team that picks me, they’re going to get my all. I’m really hoping to just win some ball games wherever I go and have a lot of success.”

Hutchinson was a Heisman Trophy finalist after leading the B1G with 14 sacks during the 2021 season. He was also responsible for 62 tackles, 12 quarterback hurries and 2 forced fumbles.

Hutchinson will have an opportunity to boost his draft stock even higher during the 2022 NFL Combine. With the draft still months away, there’s going to be a lot of speculation as to where the former Michigan defensive end will land.
