Michigan caps signing day by adding one more four-star recruit
Michigan’s monster day ended in fitting fashion.
The Wolverines last signee of the day was four-star tight end Devin Asiasi, who picked Michigan over Alabama, UCLA, USC and Washington.
The Concord, California native is the third-ranked tight end and the 74th player overall in the 2016 class, according to the 247sports composite rankings.

Asiasi’s commitment means Michigan wound up with three tight ends in its 2016 class. The Wolverines had previously been in the market for the nation’s top tight end Isaac Nauta, but he chose home-state Georgia last month.
Instead, Michigan wound up with another U.S. Army All-American. He became the third Californian to sign with Michigan, joining the likes of fellow four-star recruits David Long and Dylan Crawford.
The Wolverines did miss out on four-star defensive tackle Boss Tagaloa, who committed to UCLA on Wednesday, but that was one of the few targets they didn’t land.
Asiasi’s commitment caps what was an eventful Signing Day for Michigan, to say the least. Earlier in the day, the Wolverines got commitments from four-star cornerback Lavert Hill, No. 1 kicker Quinn Nordin, and consensus No. 1 overall recruit Rashan Gary.
Michigan finished the day with the No. 5 class nationally with 14 four-star recruits and Gary, who was a five-star recruit.
