Biff Poggi has extended an open invitation to Jim Harbaugh as the Michigan head coach serves his 3-game suspension.

Poggi, a former Michigan assistant who is now the head coach at Charlotte, invited Harbaugh to stand on the sidelines with him for the 49ers final 2 games against Rice and South Florida.

“I am extending an open invitation to Jim Harbaugh to join me on the sidelines for the next two Charlotte football games,” Poggi wrote in a social media post on Friday. “It would be my honor to stand next to you again as we did for three years.”

Harbaugh’s Wolverines take on Maryland on Saturday before closing out the season against Ohio State. Harbaugh will not be able to coach in either game.

Poggi served as an analyst for Michigan in 2016. He returned to the program from 2021 to 2022 to be an associated head coach alongside Harbaugh. Poggi is in his first season as head coach of Charlotte and the 49ers are off to a 3-7 start to the season.
