The Big House is longer as big a house as it once was.

The University of Michigan announced today that Michigan Stadium will be reducing its maximum capacity by just less than 2,000 seats.

The 88-year old stadium is still going to have the nation’s largest maximum capacity at 107,601 seats. The university sighted the reduction effort as a means to become ADA accessible, which would allow for bigger walkways and install hand railings around the entire bowl, excluding the student section.

Penn State’s Beaver Stadium is the next closest in size to Michigan with a maximum capacity of 106, 572.
