Blake Corum reflects on return to Michigan, speaking Monday win into existence
Blake Corum decided to wait things out when it came to the NFL, and it’s paid off for Michigan.
Corum could have gone on to the NFL after the season he had last year, but decided to return to Ann Arbor. Now Michigan has one game left on its schedule and it’s the most important of Corum’s career. The Michigan running back was confident in his team’s chances at Saturday’s media day with the Big Ten Network.
“It means a lot to me, because a lot of guys, they might have left, but I saw through all of it. I knew the NFL wasn’t going anywhere. I wanted to come back for something a little bigger. And look, we’re here. This is the biggest of the big,” said Corum. “We’re playing for the national championship. We have the opportunity to do something very, very special. It’s just a blessing, it hasn’t really settled in for me. I’m so focused on the job at hand, the task at hand. But I swear, after we get this win, and I’m speaking it into existence, after we get this win, it’ll all settle in.”
The Michigan backfield is just as dangerous as ever with Corum at the helm. He leads the nation with 26 touchdowns coming into the national championship. Corum also leads Michigan with 1,111 yards rushing ahead of the matchup.
On the other hand, Washington has allowed 137.1 rushing yards per game this season. Can the Washington rush defense handle someone like Corum? Fans will get a chance to find out on Monday.
