Blake Corum has been one of the best running backs and players in college football this season. The junior ball carrier has rushed for 611 yards on 93 attempts and 10 touchdowns. His play on the field and leadership has helped Michigan to a 5-0 start.

Corum recently gave some words of advice to fellow running back CJ Stokes. The 3-star freshman had a fumble in Michigan’s win over Maryland (Via 247 Sports).

“That’s part of the game, you know? I said ‘At least you ain’t fumble in the College Football Playoffs like me. It could have been worse,'” explained Corum.

Stokes has carried the ball 23 times for 112 yards and 1 touchdown this season. The South Carolina native had 1 attempt for -2 yards and that fumble against the Terrapins.

“It’s part of the game. Every running back has fumbled at least once,” said Corum. “That fumble has nothing to do with why coach hasn’t put him back in the game. Coach trust him. Just let it go.”

As a freshman, something like that might get in Stokes’ head. The fan base is not looking for hiccups after winning the B1G Championship and going to the College Football Playoff last season.

“Obviously Twitter, people might hound you or whatnot, but they don’t know the work you put in and things like that,” Corum said. “Don’t even listen to it. At the end of the day, the naysayers will be naysayers. Just let it be and come back strong. You know what you can do, we know what you can do. It happened, it’s part of the game.”
