Blake Corum updates injury status, outlook for B1G Championship vs. Purdue
Blake Corum was honored Wednesday as the B1G’s Ameche-Dayne Running Back of the Year for the 2022 season. During the BTN awards show, Corum was interviewed and asked about his status for Saturday’s B1G Championship Game vs. Purdue.
Corum remained vague about is overall status, repeatedly saying he is taking things “day-by-day” in his recovery and preparation. The star RB also said “We shall see” when asked what his role will be on Saturday.
Corum was even asked about the severity of his knee injury and how his recovery is going. He refrained from giving many specifics, instead saying it is mainly a nagging pain that he is coping with.
While Corum is undoubtedly a leader for the Wolverines with over 1,400 rushing yards and 18 touchdowns this season, Michigan is riding into Indy off the back of a massive performance by Donovan Edwards. Edwards rushed for over 200 yards with a pair of big runs against Ohio State and could step into the spotlight once again on Saturday.
We’ll see which RB the Wolverines try to ride on Saturday.
