Michigan may have a third quarterback start a game under center come Saturday evening.

During his press conference on Monday, Jim Harbaugh was asked about the situation at starting quarterback, and in particular, if freshman Brandon Peters would take the first snap against Minnesota.

Harbaugh didn’t exactly say that Peters would be the starter this week, but he did say that the freshman would play against the Gophers. He later stated that it was “likely” that Peters would take the first snap.

Last week against Rutgers, Peters was ushered in to relieve John O’Korn, who struggled early in the game. There was a noticeable difference once Peters was under center. The Wolverines started to move the football on the ground and through the air, eventually taking care of the Scarlet Knights 35-14.

Peters finished the day completing 10-of-14 passes for 124 yards and a touchdown.

If Peters does take the first snap against Minnesota, he’ll be the third starter for Michigan this season. Wilton Speight has been out since the Purdue game due to injury. O’Korn has started the last four games.
