Current Broncos and former Michigan tight end Jake Butt has been placed on injured reserve and will miss all of his rookie season.
Butt tweeted the news on Monday evening, saying he was disappointed in the decision but he looks forward to making a return in 2018. The tight end is still recovering from a torn ACL he suffered last year in Michigan’s Orange Bowl game against Florida State.
Here was the note that Butt tweeted out Monday:

Despite the ACL injury, Butt was taken in the fifth-round of the 2017 NFL Draft by the Broncos. He was the 145th pick overall.
Butt was sensational during his time at Michigan, catching 138 passes for 1,646 yards and 11 touchdowns. He was particularly good his junior and senior seasons, tallying over 500 receiving yards in each of those seasons.
Now that Butt has been ruled out for the remainder of the 2017 season, he says the focus will turn to a full recovery in time for the start of the 2018 campaign.
