Bryce Underwood is indeed committed to Michigan, flipping his pledge away from LSU after reports of the move Thursday night.

Underwood is the nation’s No. 1 overall prospect and a massive quarterback recruit out of Belleville High School. His status as an in-state recruit only adds to the massive context of Sherrone Moore landing Underwood for the Wolverines.

Underwood has since shared an official commitment video to Instagram which has since been re-shared to X (formerly Twitter). It includes highlights from Underwood’s childhood and high school career, including a much younger Underwood proclaiming he would be playing for the Michigan Wolverines.

The commitment for Underwood is significant on many levels. If he signs, he will be the highest-rated prospect to sign with the Wolverines in program history.

It’s also significant in the world of NIL as it shows Michigan is poised to be a major player in the new era of college football. According to reports from various outlets, the Wolverines compiled a package upwards of $10 million in order to land Underwood’s pledge.

The story also contains traces of former UM analyst Connor Stalions who resigned from the program during last year’s major sign-stealing scandal. Stalions, who re-entered coaching in the Michigan high school ranks this year, has been helping coach Belleville on the offensive side of the ball during Underwood’s postseason run.

We’ll see how it all plays out for Michigan, but Underwood is poised to answer the QB dilemma for Moore’s team in 2025.
